Senior Software Engineering Architect – Investment Technologies

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Take charge of comprehensive solution architecture encompassing applications, services, data, APIs, integration, along with investment data and analytics platforms.

• Define and uphold reference architecture across application, integration, data, and infrastructure tiers.

• Develop canonical investment domain models, IBOR/ABOR/PBOR data flows, API-first standards, integration patterns, and technology standards.

• Collaborate with investment engineering teams on implementations from the user interface through to pipelines.

• Evaluate designs and pull requests, establishing benchmarks for testing, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Design architecture integrating vendor platforms, including order/portfolio management, investment accounting, private markets, market data providers, and custodians.

• Determine build-vs-buy-vs-configure decisions and create applications, APIs, and automation to address vendor gaps.

• Craft AWS cloud solutions utilizing serverless and containerized services, eventing, workflow orchestration, and Snowflake-based data platforms.

• Engineer architectures that generate SOX ITGC and SOC 1/2 evidence through data lineage, logging, and traceable audit controls.

• Develop architectural runway within Agile and RGA’s Product Delivery Operating Model.

• Author enabler epics, engage in PI planning, prioritize technical debt, and guide delivery teams towards the target state.

• Mentor senior engineers and collaborate with enterprise architecture, information security, data governance, investment operations, and investment accounting leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years in software engineering.

• At least 5 years of experience architecting and delivering platforms for buy-side investments at an asset manager, insurer general account, pension, or investment-platform vendor.

• Proficiency in at least two stack tiers: application and services engineering, data platform engineering, and cloud infrastructure; with working fluency across all three.

• Working knowledge in investment data, including trade lifecycle, IBOR vs. ABOR, fixed income and derivatives, private and structured assets, corporate actions, and reconciliation.

• Strong software engineering expertise in Python, JavaScript, SQL, Terraform, Bash, modern web applications, TypeScript/React-class front ends, REST, GraphQL, or event-driven APIs.

• Practical AWS experience with compute, serverless, containers, eventing, and IAM.

• Experience with a Snowflake-class cloud data platform, streaming ingestion, and orchestration at scale.

• Background in applying generative AI and agentic tooling to engineering delivery or developing AI-assisted workflow applications.

• Direct experience with major investment platforms such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, SimCorp, Eagle, Clearwater, PAM-class accounting systems, or similar.

• Experience delivering under audit conditions, including SOX, SOC 1/2, model governance, or equivalent control regimes.

• Ability to adjust communication for technical and business audiences, from individual contributors to executive levels.

• Preferred experience in insurance or reinsurance general-account, investment accounting, and statutory reporting.

• Familiarity with Asset-Liability Management and actuarial interfaces to investment data is a strong plus.

• Preferred experience in private credit or private markets platforms.

• Experience working within an Agile methodology in a product-oriented technology organization is a strong plus.
