Senior Software Engineer – Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary technical authority for quality engineering at Replicant.

• Influence the integration of quality into the platform through active engineering involvement.

• Elevate the technical standards among AI-enabled QA Engineers by conducting code and test reviews, pairing, and providing mentorship.

• Lead an AI-driven quality engineering strategy aimed at increasing coverage, speeding up validation, and identifying failures at an earlier stage.

• Develop AI-enhanced testing workflows to ensure extensive and scalable platform validation.

• Manage the quality feedback loop encompassing internal dogfooding, customer A/B testing, feedback triage, and bug reporting.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to enhance testability, define acceptance criteria, and incorporate quality from the outset.

• Create and refine automation frameworks, validation tools, and CI/CD quality checkpoints.

• Utilize AI and analytics to broaden edge-case coverage, summarize failures, and guide roadmap and release decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in SDET or quality engineering roles.

• Extensive hands-on coding experience, including the responsibility for test strategy and release quality in complex software systems.

• Proficient programming skills in at least one of TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.

• Capability to develop and maintain production-quality tools and frameworks.

• Ability to leverage AI to enhance coverage, minimize manual effort, and create more intelligent testing workflows.

• Interest in AI systems, conversational experiences, and testing the behavior of voice-driven products.

• Proven experience in establishing quality initiatives across teams and influencing engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.

• In-depth understanding of automation, API testing, integration testing, regression strategies, and CI/CD-centric quality workflows.

• Demonstrated proficiency in test design and risk-based coverage approaches.

• Skill in determining what aspects should be automated versus explored manually.

• Comfort with using data, metrics, and analytics to assess quality and convey trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

• Strong collaboration and communication abilities across Engineering, Product, and customer-facing teams.

• Experience in testing AI and LLM-powered systems, including non-deterministic behavior, hallucinations, prompt or workflow regressions, and generative-product quality issues (preferred).

• Background in an FDE, delivery, or professional services environment (preferred).
