Senior Software Engineer – Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement solutions for Honeycomb's query and data storage framework.

• Enhance query performance and advance the Retriever service.

• Increase the reliability of the storage layer.

• Decompose intricate storage and querying challenges, highlight trade-offs, and execute projects independently.

• Manage work comprehensively from design to production support.

• Collaborate with Product Management and engineering teams to align technical solutions with product requirements.

• Participate in on-call rotations.

• Assist in defining team KPIs and SLOs.

• Minimize toil and proactively address reliability issues.

• Investigate new technologies, data storage methodologies, and query optimization techniques.

• Collaborate, review code, offer constructive feedback, and support teammates in their development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven technical leadership in storage and querying domains.

• Proficient in writing Go.

• Experience with high-throughput or complex systems.

• Previous experience in database engineering is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus.

• Capability to scope and deliver complex projects involving multiple teams.

• Extensive debugging skills across the entire stack.

• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

• Ability to mentor engineers through code reviews.

• Skill in guiding the adoption of new technologies.

• Must verify identity and eligibility to work.
