This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Develop and deliver backend features from start to finish, encompassing design, implementation, testing, review, and deployment.
• Advance the AI-native platform that streamlines residential real estate transaction coordination within the US market.
• Transition the platform from SQLite-friendly to production PostgreSQL, ensuring schema parity, rehearsing cutover, verification, concurrency testing, and rollback procedures.
• Establish dependable singleton or lease-based ownership for the heartbeat worker, separating it from the admin API service.
• Integrate DocuSign for envelope creation, signer mapping, signature requests, webhooks, status tracking, handling completed documents, follow-ups, failures, and retries.
• Strengthen the email layer for resolving inbound threads and attachments, ensuring deterministic outbound generation, review and approval queues, and delivery tracking.
• Ensure tenant isolation and authority across queries, credentials, exports, and integrations, utilizing action-scoped RBAC, approvals, human review gates, and append-only audit trails.
• Transition prompt and model configuration into the prompt registry and model router without altering verifier behavior.
• Develop the backend for a voice-activated contract drafting agent, encompassing structured offer data, draft generation, validation, approval, and workflow handoff.
• Create application, PostgreSQL integration, and mutation contract tests.
• Monitor health, error rates, worker heartbeat age, queue age, retry depth, provider failures, pool saturation, and slow queries.
• Collaborate with the expert team at SPD Technology to provide tailored technology solutions for clients.
• Over 5 years of professional experience with Python and substantial hands-on experience with Django.
• Profound knowledge of Django beyond REST/CRUD development, including ORM behavior under load, migrations, transactions, management commands, and background processing.
• Strong production experience with PostgreSQL, encompassing schema design, migrations, query analysis and optimization, connection pooling, transactions, locking, advisory locks, and concurrent database access.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, SQS, SES, Secrets Manager, IAM, ECR, and CloudWatch.
• Proficiency in Docker and experience with containerized application deployment and release processes.
• Demonstrated experience in building and managing integrations with third-party APIs, including signed webhooks, idempotency, retry mechanisms, reconciliation of missed events, and explicit failure handling.
• Experience in designing and maintaining multi-tenant applications with tenant-scoped data access, role-based authorization, and audit trails.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, asynchronous processing, data integrity, reliability, and production troubleshooting.
• Capability to take ownership of backend functionality from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Strong engineering mindset with sound technical decision-making where reliability, security, and data consistency are paramount.
• English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher.
• Fluent/native proficiency in Ukrainian.
• Bonus: experience with PDF processing and OCR pipelines, particularly AWS Textract.
