Senior Software Engineer, Rust

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage backend production services primarily using Rust.

• Make strategic architectural choices that balance performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Oversee services and troubleshoot issues throughout their production lifecycle.

• Create indexers and event-processing pipelines for blockchain data.

• Ensure that internal data remains consistent with upstream blockchain states.

• Develop systems to manage retries, duplicate events, partial failures, and blockchain reorganizations.

• Construct and maintain APIs for internal tools and client-facing dashboards.

• Design dependable interfaces capable of handling large volumes of on-chain data.

• Keep data models clear and well-structured.

• Take ownership of the accuracy and consistency of figures generated by services.

• Investigate discrepancies and clarify how reported figures were derived.

• Implement validation, reconciliation, and monitoring processes.

• Assist with client launches, production deployments, and urgent releases.

• Diagnose and resolve production issues under time constraints.

• Develop runbooks and enhance operational processes following incidents.

• Build services that interact with smart contracts across supported blockchain networks.

• Collaborate with smart-contract engineers and provide support for contract deployment and maintenance as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience in production environments with Rust, focusing on asynchronous services, APIs, and data-ingestion systems.

• Solid foundation in backend engineering principles, including distributed systems, concurrency, data modeling, and SQL.

• Proven experience in building data-intensive or high-throughput systems where accuracy is crucial.

• Understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including EVM and/or Solana, RPC providers, event logs, and indexers.

• Familiarity with smart contracts, including Rust-based development frameworks such as Anchor.

• Capability to diagnose production systems and make sound decisions under pressure.

• Proficient in written English, with the ability to produce runbooks and technical documentation.

• A proactive and accountable work ethic, with the ability to work independently within a distributed team.

• Experience in digital assets, trading, DeFi, or financial infrastructure.

• Exposure to various blockchain ecosystems or cross-chain infrastructure.

• Experience in building or managing blockchain indexing infrastructure.

• Experience supporting time-sensitive client or production launches.
