Senior Software Engineer, Python Backend, AI Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of core systems, their architecture, the production environment, and ensure the platform's reliability, scalability, and performance.

• Consistently provide high-quality features.

• Optimize resource utilization and costs through monitoring and load-testing insights.

• Collaborate closely with machine learning engineers and backend developers to integrate AI models with production-ready software.

• Facilitate discussions with various stakeholders.

• Lead the technical alignment and delivery across multiple teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in building and operating Python backend services in a production environment.

• Strong foundational knowledge of Python.

• Extensive experience in creating APIs, such as FastAPI or similar frameworks.

• Proven history of designing, managing, and scaling resilient distributed systems.

• Familiarity with event-driven pipelines and messaging/task-queue systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Celery.

• Experience in performance optimization and load testing at scale.

• Practical experience with Azure, GCP, or AWS.

• Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience in integrating or operating LLMs or other ML models in a production setting.

• Strong background in observability, including logging, metrics, and dashboards.

• Experience in troubleshooting complex production issues.

• Capability to take end-to-end ownership of Python development.

• Ability to lead discussions with stakeholders and coordinate delivery across teams.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a genuine curiosity about production systems.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Experience in an ISO 27001 / GDPR-compliant environment is a plus.
