Lead Applications Development Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Supervise the analysis, programming, and configuration of information technology systems software.

• Deliver thought leadership and architectural expertise.

• Create high-quality interfaces for Angular applications.

• Direct the architectural design and development of Angular applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to outline technical requirements and convert business needs into technical solutions.

• Offer technical guidance to foster innovation and enhance application design and development.

• Analyze business challenges and recommend software solutions.

• Guide and mentor junior programmers.

• Provide estimates and develop functional and detailed design specifications.

• Transform system designs and technical specifications into program code for complex applications.

• Advocate for lightweight architectures, modern web standards, and best practices to enhance application performance and minimize load times.

• Debug, troubleshoot program code, and correct errors.

• Offer Level-2 support for systems-related issues.

• Oversee software releases to production and confirm system stability post-patching.

• Act as a high-level technical expert in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software and significant enhancements.

• Collaborate with technical staff to comprehend software issues and develop specifications for resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a foreign educational equivalent.

• 4 years of experience in the position offered or in a Lead Engineer, Application Development (Java)-related role.

• Proven experience in architecting and developing large-scale, distributed, web-based applications utilizing Python FastAPI, Angular, and React.js.

• Experience in deploying applications across multiple geographic regions utilizing Google Cloud Infrastructure.

• Familiarity with component-based, object-oriented systems, internet technologies, client/server architectures, relational databases, structured development practices, testing methodologies, and data warehousing principles.

• Proficiency in building UI libraries and modern web interfaces using JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular 20.x, and React.js.

• Experience in developing secure, production-ready APIs using Java 12+, Python FastAPI, and Spring Framework (Boot).

• Knowledge of UNIX shell commands; experience with Git repositories, build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker.

• Experience in installing and managing system packages using yum, apt, and brew.

• Experience in preparing runtime environments for application deployment.

• Practical experience with PL/SQL for enterprise-scale data workflows.

• Strong understanding of GCP CI/CD and cloud-native delivery pipelines.

• Familiarity with Jira and Agile methodologies.
