Software Engineer – Go/Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance highly available, event-driven systems that facilitate large-scale communication with software agents operating across various operating systems.

• Create and sustain software solutions utilizing a diverse technology stack.

• Engage with backend services, cloud infrastructure, security, and real-time messaging.

• Produce reliable, efficient, functional, and scalable production software.

• Architect, implement, test, monitor, optimize performance, refactor, and continuously enhance applications.

• Contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from technical design and specifications to implementation and production operation.

• Make engineering decisions grounded in data and comprehend the production implications of software modifications.

• Collaborate with the wider engineering team and cross-functional distributed teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in designing, developing, testing, and monitoring applications within high-availability SaaS environments.

• Strong software engineering background in Go or Java, with the capability and readiness to work with various programming languages.

• Experience in designing and creating distributed, event-driven services and scalable backend systems.

• Proficient in building production applications in cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

• In-depth knowledge of secure software development practices, including OWASP, vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, secure code reviews, data protection, encryption, authentication, and authorization.

• Familiarity with microservice architectures and large-scale event ingestion platforms.

• Knowledge of real-time communication technologies like WebSockets, Kafka, MQTT, or similar messaging systems.

• Experience with non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, along with familiarity with relational databases, caching, and object storage technologies.

• Understanding of networking, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure concepts pertinent to distributed applications.

• Valuable experience in developing applications that maintain continuous connectivity with client software.

• Strong quality-oriented mindset, emphasizing automated testing, performance tuning, refactoring, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

• Ability to make data-informed engineering decisions and grasp the production effects of software changes.

• Experience in contributing throughout the full software development lifecycle, from technical design and specifications to implementation and production operation.

• Strong sense of ownership and excellent problem-solving skills, with the capability to work independently while collaborating closely with the broader engineering team.

• Exceptional English communication skills and the ability to collaborate efficiently within cross-functional, distributed teams.
