Senior Software Engineer – Platform & Developer Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct regular interviews with engineering teams to pinpoint workflow challenges and prioritize necessary tools or architectural modifications.

• Create and implement reusable design patterns utilizing Nest.js, React.js, and TypeScript.

• Enhance PostgreSQL queries and improve Kafka producer/consumer patterns to ensure reliable message delivery.

• Manage and refine Kubernetes and ArgoCD configurations for automated and secure deployments.

• Lead technical initiatives across teams, focusing on shared-library re-architecture and enhancements in service-to-service communication.

• Refactor intricate codebases into maintainable, testable, and modern modular structures.

• Mentor and guide engineers throughout the organization.

• Investigate, prototype, and implement internal tools, libraries, and frameworks to advance CI/CD, local development, and observability.

• Introduce frameworks or architectural modifications, complemented by documentation, workshops, and individual support.

• Set an example in code reviews and provide coaching on sustainable design, testing, and system-level risk management.

• Articulate technical trade-offs across various functions and harmonize differing viewpoints.

• Propel enhancements in DORA metrics, system latency, developer velocity, and knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a proven history of leading teams and providing technical guidance.

• A strong passion for mentorship, demonstrated by a track record of advancing the technical careers of associate and intermediate engineers.

• Previous experience specifically within Platform, Infrastructure, or Developer Experience (DevEx) teams.

• Extensive professional expertise in the Node.js/TypeScript ecosystem, including experience in scaling Nest.js backends and React.js frontends.

• Practical experience in managing containerized workloads using Kubernetes and ArgoCD.

• Strong skills in PostgreSQL (query optimization and schema design) and Kafka (event-driven architecture).

• Proven capability to "unroll" complex legacy code and replace it with scalable, maintainable architecture.

• Experience in navigating ambiguous environments and translating vague technical challenges into prioritized action plans.

• Demonstrated ability to foster psychological safety and trust within a team while elevating engineering quality standards.
