Developer Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Act as a representative for Zyte at developer conferences, meetups, community gatherings, podcasts, webinars, and other pertinent industry events.

• Discover and assess opportunities for speaking, sponsorship, partnership, and community involvement that align with Zyte’s strategic objectives.

• Create and present conference presentations, technical workshops, live demonstrations, webinars, and panel discussions, including at Extract Summit.

• Establish and nurture relationships with developers, community leaders, event organizers, technology partners, and external advocates.

• Expand a network of independent advocates and assist them in sharing their experiences with Zyte, Scrapy, and web data extraction.

• Consistently engage with developers across social media platforms, forums, events, and technical communities.

• Produce written content, videos, presentations, demonstrations, and code samples to facilitate the adoption of Zyte’s tools by developers.

• Present practical solutions to challenges in web scraping and data extraction.

• Author technical articles for Zyte’s blog and external publications.

• Spot opportunities to contribute to developer and open-source communities.

• Advocate for the developer viewpoint within the marketing team and the broader organization.

• Enhance developer documentation and contribute directly to its improvements.

• Share developer-centric content on Zyte’s social media platforms.

• Monitor the effectiveness of events, speaking engagements, partnerships, and community activities to inform future initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in developer advocacy, community engagement, or similar technical roles, with a proven established following.

• In-depth understanding of web technologies, APIs, web scraping, and data extraction.

• Proven proficiency in Python.

• A keen interest in web data extraction.

• A strong enthusiasm for developers and assisting them.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, along with some experience in public speaking.

• Demonstrated experience in engaging with communities, utilizing social media, and blogging is essential.

• A background in community building and event organization is advantageous.

• Self-motivated, independent, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.

• A strong collaborator and team player.

• Familiarity with Scrapy, headless browsers, and web scraping is a plus, but not mandatory.
