Developer Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Represent Zyte at developer conferences, community meetups, podcasts, webinars, and other pertinent industry events.

• Identify and assess speaking, sponsorship, partnership, and community engagement opportunities that align with Zyte’s objectives.

• Create and present engaging conference talks, technical workshops, live demonstrations, webinars, and panel discussions, including contributions to our own industry event, Extract Summit.

• Establish and nurture meaningful relationships with developers, community leaders, event organizers, technology partners, and external advocates.

• Expand a network of independent advocates and assist them in sharing their experiences with Zyte, Scrapy, and web data extraction.

• Consistently engage with developers across social media channels, forums, events, and relevant technical communities.

• Produce written content, videos, presentations, demonstrations, and code samples that facilitate developers' adoption and integration of Zyte’s tools.

• Highlight practical solutions for web scraping and data extraction challenges.

• Write technical articles for Zyte’s blog and reputable third-party publications.

• Discover opportunities for Zyte to engage with and contribute to developer and open-source communities.

• Advocate for the developer perspective within the marketing team and throughout the broader organization.

• Identify areas to enhance developer documentation and contribute directly to these enhancements.

• Regularly contribute to Zyte’s social media channels with content tailored for a developer audience.

• Monitor the impact of events, speaking engagements, partnerships, and community initiatives, utilizing these insights to inform future strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in developer advocacy, community engagement, or similar technical roles, with a proven established following.

• Strong grasp of web technologies, APIs, web scraping, and data extraction.

• Demonstrable proficiency in Python.

• Genuine interest in web data extraction.

• A passion for developers and a commitment to supporting them.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with some public speaking experience.

• Proven experience in engaging with communities, utilizing social media, and blogging is essential.

• A background in community building and event hosting is advantageous.

• Self-motivated, independent, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.

• Strong collaborative team player.

• Familiarity with Scrapy, headless browsers, and web scraping is a plus, though not mandatory.
