This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee updates to the IPaC website application architecture for federal data migration.
• Design and implement API integrations between the consultation application and the cloud data platform.
• Develop functionality for species display, which includes habitat designations, listing status, and regulatory requirements.
• Create updates for programmatic consultation logic alignment and joint agency consultation handling procedures.
• Assist in the establishment and ongoing maintenance of the demo environment for government demonstrations.
• Address application-layer defects discovered during interoperability testing.
• Provide application-layer integration components for the IPaC user interface and Logic Update Package.
• Implement integration updates on the platform side for DKey content and workflows related to consultation package assembly.
• Carry out production cutover deployment activities in accordance with the approved migration playbook.
• Document procedures for application maintenance and incident response in the Final Operational Playbooks.
• A Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience, or an Associate's degree with 10 years of professional experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 12 years of professional experience.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on federal application integration.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing REST API integrations between federal applications and cloud data platforms.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or other equivalent backend development languages.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems for managing and deploying federal application code.
• Familiarity with federal software development standards and FedRAMP-compliant deployment practices.
• Knowledge of Section 508/WCAG 2.0 accessibility requirements.
• Understanding of federal IT governance frameworks and platform constraint management.
• Preferred: experience with IPaC or comparable federal environmental decision support systems.
• Preferred: knowledge of DKey systems or consultation package builder platforms.
• Preferred: understanding of Databricks or cloud data lakehouse API integration.
• Preferred: familiarity with integration testing frameworks or API contract testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
• Preferred: experience with Agile/iterative software development in federal programs.
• Preferred: experience in IT environments associated with DOI, FWS, or NOAA Fisheries.
• A discretionary bonus may be available in addition to base salary.
