Senior Software Engineer – Model Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, construct, deploy, and sustain the Model Serving infrastructure that supports the Detection Engine.

• Take ownership of projects aimed at scaling model serving and data processing services to accommodate 10 times the current traffic.

• Develop the platform to combat rapidly emerging AI threats.

• Manage real-time and near real-time streaming pipelines along with online feature serving services.

• Create Abnormal’s ML Training platform to enhance the velocity of MLE and improve product precision and recall.

• Collaborate with MLE and Data Science teams by synthesizing feedback, aligning it with strategic goals, and executing plans.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers through one-on-one meetings, pair programming, code reviews, and design evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar capacity, with practical experience in developing ML-engineering focused solutions.

• Proven experience in maintaining large-scale distributed systems on cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Strong understanding of best practices in cloud-based engineering.

• Experience in managing real-time and near real-time data pipelines or streaming services at a high scale.

• Ability to work effectively with data scientists, machine learning engineers, product managers, and other key stakeholders.

• Capacity to convert requirements into actionable technical tasks, clearly communicate progress, and incorporate feedback.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently in a dynamic environment.

• Familiarity with machine learning workflows and requirements that support MLE teams.

• Experience in feature development and serving at a rate of 50K+ QPS.

• Knowledge of offline/online equivalency and large batch processing for data collection and training tree and deep learning models.

• Experience with streaming data architectures and real-time data processing.

• Awareness of security and compliance frameworks associated with data engineering and data privacy.
