Senior Software Engineer, Insurance Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to identify and extract property attributes utilizing regular expressions, large language models, or alternative methods.

• Contribute to the design and upkeep of backend services by writing clean, well-tested code.

• Engage in code reviews and participate in technical discussions.

• Undertake clearly defined tasks and complete them within a reasonable timeframe.

• Communicate updates and progress effectively with the team.

• Acquire knowledge of the key services and tools utilized by the team.

• Learn to navigate within a microservices architecture and cloud infrastructure.

• Adhere to established patterns and frameworks while exercising engineering judgment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or four years of equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in software development.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Experience in production JVM languages, preferably Scala.

• Understanding of data science concepts, data labeling, or information extraction.

• Familiarity with terminology and concepts related to property inspections, real estate assessments, or home condition reporting.

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), event-driven systems (Kafka), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), or CI/CD pipelines.

• Exposure to Scala.

• Proven experience collaborating with US-based business teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Must currently reside in or be located within 150 km of Greater Delhi NCR, Greater Bangalore, or Greater Pune.

• Availability for 8-hour workdays, excluding breaks, with 4 core US hours overlap (7:30pm–11:30pm IST) and 4 flexible IST hours.

• A quiet workspace is essential.

• Internet connection with a minimum of 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed.
