Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop platform capabilities encompassing frontend, backend, and supporting infrastructure.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers on both new and existing features.

• Approach the platform as a product by understanding customer requirements and identifying friction points.

• Utilize KPIs, OKRs, North Star metrics, and empirical data to assess impact and drive enhancements.

• Take ownership of features and services from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, infrastructure, and production support.

• Enhance the workflow from concept to production.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

• Build and maintain APIs while integrating third-party services.

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

• Engage in code reviews, testing, and debugging activities.

• Mentor engineers and support their professional development.

• Participate in architectural discussions and establish technical standards and best practices.

• Stay updated with emerging technologies and refine development processes.

• Collaborate with teammates across disciplines to learn workflows, tools, and deployment practices.

• Assume end-to-end ownership of smaller features or components.

• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and team decision-making.

• Enhance systems, processes, and the developer experience.

• Influence architectural decisions, evolve the platform for scalability, and support long-term technical planning.

• Establish patterns, processes, and documentation that reinforce engineering culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of full-stack engineering experience.

• Proven track record in building systems, driving engineering standards, and defining technical direction.

• Practical experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure.

• Knowledge of application deployment, security, monitoring, and production operations.

• Familiarity with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.

• Understanding of IAM, computing, storage, and service-to-service communication.

• Experience in building systems for both internal stakeholders and external users.

• Background in authentication, onboarding, or enablement features.

• Proficient in writing automated unit, integration, and/or end-to-end tests.

• Experience leading the design or delivery of significant systems.

• Background working in startup or early-stage companies, preferably as a founding engineer.

• Pragmatic approach to selecting tools and technologies.

• Ability to explore alternatives and suggest enhancements to systems and processes.

• Experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, AWS, SQL/NoSQL, Postgres, Mongo, Timestream, Lambda, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, and React.
