Infrastructure Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deploy, manage, automate, and resolve issues related to network, cloud, and server infrastructure for small to mid-sized business clients.

• Act as a technical escalation point for intricate infrastructure challenges.

• Oversee Cisco Meraki environments from deployment to ongoing support, encompassing staging, configuration, installation, testing, and acceptance.

• Diagnose latency, packet loss, connectivity, wireless, and other user-affecting issues utilizing the OSI model, Wireshark, packet captures, and the Meraki Dashboard.

• Coordinate activities with ISPs, carriers, suppliers, and dispatch teams until resolution is achieved.

• Analyze network, server, and Azure alerts to uncover root causes.

• Create and maintain automated runbooks while integrating APIs and management platforms.

• Automate repetitive remediation and operational tasks.

• Establish and uphold standard operating procedures.

• Securely administer standardized management tools and relevant systems.

• Support plans for disaster recovery, security, backup, and restoration.

• Monitor emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits, ensuring timely patching.

• Strengthen device and network configurations.

• Monitor and address escalated service tickets.

• Develop training programs for the service desk team.

• Document internal processes and procedures comprehensively.

• Log time, expenses, activities, and service tickets in ConnectWise.

• Travel to prospects and clients for on-site work as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience working with small and mid-sized businesses within a service-oriented environment.

• At least 5 years of networking experience, including support for Meraki systems.

• Over 3 years of experience in supporting Azure environments.

• More than 3 years of experience in automation using Python and/or PowerShell.

• At least 3 years of experience managing alerts and alarms in network, server, and Azure environments, including the automation of standard runbooks.

• Proficiency in installing a Meraki network from hardware receipt through user testing and acceptance.

• Ability to utilize the OSI model to troubleshoot intricate system and network issues.

• Capability to coordinate with network suppliers and carriers effectively.

• Experience in using packet analysis tools to determine root causes.

• Familiarity with installing and configuring Meraki cloud firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN environments.

• Understanding of support tools, techniques, and IT service delivery methodologies.

• Professional IT certifications or equivalent experience, such as Microsoft AZ-104, Microsoft AZ-140, CCNA, Meraki Solutions Specialist, or Python Certification.

• Strong multitasking abilities and adaptability.
