Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design, execution, and governance of OCI infrastructure within a multi-cloud governmental setting catering to over 70 customer tenants.

• Convert mission requirements into secure, scalable, and compliant cloud architectures.

• Create and sustain OCI reference architectures for computing, networking, storage, databases, and identity management.

• Direct tenant onboarding patterns, compartment hierarchies, and strategies for resource isolation.

• Assess and recommend OCI services and design patterns while ensuring compliance with FedRAMP and FISMA.

• Establish and uphold architectural standards, naming conventions, and tagging strategies.

• Design and manage OCI Compute, Block/Object Storage, VCN, Autonomous Database, Oracle Database Cloud Service, OKE, and Functions.

• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform, OCI Resource Manager, Ansible, or similar tools.

• Lead capacity planning, cost optimization, and resource governance across OCI compartments and tenancies.

• Act as the escalation point for intricate OCI infrastructure incidents and facilitate root cause analysis and systemic remediation.

• Design and enforce security architecture leveraging OCI IAM, Network Security Groups, Security Zones, Cloud Guard, and Vault.

• Ensure OCI deployments comply with FedRAMP, FISMA, and DHS-specific security criteria.

• Collaborate with Security teams on vulnerability remediation, access governance, and audit preparedness.

• Oversee change management processes for modifications to OCI infrastructure.

• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, and Service Delivery teams regarding program strategy and mission objectives.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cloud engineers.

• Contribute to multi-cloud strategies, migration planning, and modernization roadmaps.

• Produce technical documentation, architecture decision records, and knowledge base articles.

• Assist in service delivery metrics and reporting in conjunction with the Service Delivery Manager and ISR Product Owner.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience, or an Associate's degree with 10 years of professional experience, or a High School Diploma/equivalent with 12 years of professional experience.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Capability to obtain a DHS Public Trust Security Clearance (Entry on Duty).

• Over 5 years of experience in cloud engineering or architecture, demonstrating expertise in OCI.

• Experience in designing and managing cloud infrastructure within large-scale, multi-tenant governmental environments.

• Extensive knowledge of OCI Compute, Block/Object Storage, VCN, Autonomous Database, OKE, Functions, and IAM (Identity Domains).

• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/OCI Resource Manager, Ansible, or similar technologies.

• In-depth understanding of FedRAMP, FISMA, and federal security requirements applicable to OCI deployments.

• Familiarity with OCI Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Vault, and Network Security Groups.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and technical documentation skills, with the ability to present to government stakeholders.

• Preferred: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional certification or OCI Architect Associate with demonstrable production architecture experience.

• Preferred: Additional OCI certifications in Security, Networking, or Database specializations.

• Preferred: Proficient in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Preferred: Experience in Oracle Database migration and management on OCI.

• Preferred: Production experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OKE.

• Preferred: Familiarity with OCI data and analytics services.

• Preferred: CI/CD pipeline design and implementation experience using OCI DevOps or similar.

• Preferred: Relevant Agile certification.

• Preferred: Experience mentoring engineers or leading small technical teams.
