Senior Software Engineer II – Billing & Subscriptions Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Contribute to Smartsheet's most impactful initiatives leading into FY28.

• Develop scalable back-end services utilizing Kotlin and Java.

• Address challenges in distributed systems and collaborate with AWS and Kubernetes.

• Facilitate code reviews and architectural discussions alongside software engineers and product managers.

• Act as a force-multiplying team leader for significant projects.

• Mentor engineers on code quality and industry best practices.

• Collaborate with product management and other essential business areas.

• Implement AI tools across coding, testing, design, and troubleshooting, while guiding others on effective AI utilization.

• Advocate for best practices beyond the immediate team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of software development experience in creating highly scalable and available applications.

• More than 7 years of programming experience with full-stack technologies such as Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript.

• At least 3 years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).

• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience using AI to enhance personal productivity in building complex SaaS feature sets.

• Proficient in developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs.

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to independently clarify vaguely defined tasks with stakeholders.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities with a collaborative mindset.

• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. continuously.
