This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more countries.
• Design, develop, and enhance customer-facing backend services and public APIs.
• Comprehend how various products and customer segments utilize shared platform functionalities.
• Ensure that APIs and services operate effectively across diverse products and customer segments.
• Take ownership of features from inception through design, implementation, rollout, and iteration.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and the Experience front-end team.
• Create technical design documentation and lead design initiatives.
• Contribute to a product-focused roadmap with defined deadlines and clear objectives.
• Assist in prioritizing trade-offs and delivering in an iterative manner.
• Over 5 years of experience in building production services and APIs within a modern cloud environment.
• Proficient in Go (Golang) or a strong willingness to quickly learn.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and evolving public APIs that are utilized both externally and internally across various products or services.
• Practical knowledge of API versioning, backward compatibility, authentication, and usability.
• Familiarity with microservices and cloud-native architectures, which includes containers and Kubernetes.
• Capability to build services that are observable and resilient in production environments.
• Ability to collaborate with PMs, designers, and engineers across multiple product lines.
• Capacity to thrive in a remote, startup environment; self-motivated and comfortable with uncertainty.
• Previous experience in developing platform or shared services that span multiple products or customer experiences (preferred).
• Experience in the cloud-native, containers, or security ecosystem, or within the broader CNCF space (preferred).
• Significant open source contributions, especially as a maintainer or regular contributor in relevant projects (preferred).
• Work remotely with opportunities for team meetups.
