This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design, develop, and enhance backend services and public APIs that cater to customers.
• Comprehend how various products and customer demographics leverage shared platform functionalities.
• Ensure seamless operation of APIs and services across diverse products and customer segments.
• Take ownership of features from conception through to implementation, rollout, and iterative improvements.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and the Experience front-end team.
• Produce technical design documentation and guide design strategies.
• Contribute to a product-centric roadmap, assess tradeoffs, and facilitate iterative shipping.
• Over 5 years of experience in developing production services and APIs within a modern cloud setting.
• Proficient in Go (Golang) or demonstrate a strong willingness to learn rapidly.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and evolving public APIs that are consumed both externally and internally across multiple products or services.
• Practical understanding of API versioning, backward compatibility, authentication, and usability.
• Acquainted with microservices and cloud-native architectures, including containers and Kubernetes.
• Capable of building services that are observable and resilient in a production environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with PMs, designers, and engineers across various product lines.
• Ability to excel in a remote, startup atmosphere; self-motivated and comfortable with uncertainty.
• Previous experience in developing platform or shared services that span multiple products or customer experiences.
• Familiarity with the cloud-native, containers, or security ecosystem, or with tools within the broader CNCF space.
• Significant contributions to open source projects, particularly as a maintainer or regular contributor in relevant initiatives.
