Senior Software Engineer, Card Authorization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop dependable, secure, and scalable code for real-time authorization and fraud-prevention systems while minimizing technical debt.

• Create customer-facing features such as rules enhancements, velocity controls, 3DS flows, fraud tools, and transaction oversight.

• Take ownership of projects from the initial planning stage through to launch.

• Enhance the reliability of systems within the team's purview.

• Participate in the team's on-call rotation.

• Drive initiatives to enhance systems and processes within the team.

• Address challenges associated with distributed systems at scale.

• Develop tools that customers utilize to manage fraud and mitigate payment risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in building production backend systems.

• Full stack development experience is advantageous.

• Familiarity with or a desire to learn Rust.

• Capability to comprehend Lithic’s systems, which are built using Python and Java.

• Interest and experience in utilizing AI tools to boost productivity.

• Ability to navigate uncertainty, unify diverse viewpoints, and work towards feasible solutions.

• Experience or interest in the payments, fintech, or fraud prevention sectors.

• Comfort in designing systems from the ground up and managing the product development lifecycle from start to finish.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Experience working in a remote, asynchronous team distributed across various time zones.

• Candidates must reside in the United States, Canada (Ontario or British Columbia), the Netherlands, Poland, or the Czech Republic.
