Senior Software Engineer – Business Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and execute top-quality software solutions.

• Work alongside product owners, designers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and align with the product's vision and strategy.

• Produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to industry best practices.

• Engage in code reviews and offer constructive feedback.

• Provide and document technical solutions at the team or group level.

• Design and implement test plans, as well as automated unit, integration, and functional tests.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot intricate issues across various service and application contexts.

• Collaborate with support teams to prioritize and resolve production-related issues.

• Engage in product discovery sessions with customers and stakeholders.

• Set KPIs and metrics to identify challenges and promote continuous improvement.

• Mentor and guide fellow engineers both technically and culturally.

• Convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Develop a Business Intelligence platform that extracts data from internal Workiva products.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience along with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

• Preferred 4+ years of professional software development experience.

• Strong grounding in computer science, including proficiency in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented software design, and cloud-based distributed systems.

• Proven expertise in modern programming languages such as Dart, React, TypeScript, Go, Java, and/or Kotlin.

• Proficiency in debugging complex systems or applications.

• Experience as a technical mentor is preferred, with the ability to coach and guide junior engineers.

• Preferred experience working in an agile development setting.

• Experience with service-oriented architecture is a plus.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and adaptability.

• Familiarity with semantic-layer or OLAP tools (Cube.dev, dbt, Looker/LookML) or columnar warehouses such as Snowflake.

• Experience utilizing charting libraries like Highcharts, D3, Chart.js, or other dashboarding frameworks is advantageous.

• Reliable internet access.

• Willingness to travel up to 15%.
