Senior Software Engineer – Backend Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Assume responsibility for data-driven backend features that enhance personalized navigation, product discovery, and user experiences.

• Create chatbots, customized search filters, and other data-driven functionalities in alignment with project priorities.

• Design, implement, and continually enhance APIs and backend services.

• Contribute to the backend architecture and participate in technical decision-making.

• Work collaboratively with the team to propose, assess, and execute solutions.

• Provide support for full-stack development when necessary, including minor frontend and infrastructure tasks.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code while engaging in code reviews.

• Collaborate with the broader team in an Agile/Scrum environment utilizing tools such as Jira.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional software development experience, primarily focused on backend development.

• Exceptional English communication skills (CEFR C1 or higher).

• Strong experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot.

• Familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.

• Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and their implementation in backend software development.

• Proactive, ownership-oriented mindset capable of taking initiative, leading discussions, accepting responsibility, and introducing new ideas or improvements.

• Nice to have: Experience in data processing using Python and data pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Google BigQuery.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with CI/CD, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

• Nice to have: Experience within the e-commerce industry.
