This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more countries.
• Create distributed, event-driven services that transform Cloud Custodian into a comprehensive platform.
• Design and develop the GraphQL API utilized by both the console and our customers.
• Construct pipelines that implement policies across thousands of cloud accounts.
• Develop and sustain asset and cost data repositories.
• Architect systems that remain accurate and observable while managing governance workloads at scale across various clouds and regions.
• Collaborate as part of a distributed software development team within an Agile/DevOps framework.
• Spearhead backend projects and mentor fellow engineers.
• Engage in technical discussions, assess solutions, and strategize implementation paths.
• Provide architectural insights and assist team members in making informed decisions.
• Over 5 years of experience in developing backend services using Python.
• More than 3 years of experience leading backend projects and providing mentorship to engineers.
• Extensive experience in designing and managing distributed, event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with failure management, retries, idempotency, and eventual consistency principles.
• Proficient in relational databases and ORM, including PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, and Alembic.
• Experience with schema design, migrations, and optimizing query performance.
• Proven experience in designing and evolving APIs used by teams and customers.
• Familiarity with GraphQL.
• Practical experience with AWS and serverless technologies, such as Lambda, EventBridge, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB, and ECS.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code and CI/CD practices using Terraform, Docker, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with modern testing frameworks, including pytest, moto, and containerized functional test environments.
• Capable of working within a distributed software development team in an Agile/DevOps setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Skilled in problem analysis, solution comparison, and implementation planning.
• Capacity to make architectural recommendations and support teammates in their decisions.
• Team-oriented, detail-oriented, accountable, and open to constructive feedback.
