Senior C++ Developer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain C++ services within a microservices architecture.

• Create and troubleshoot software in Linux environments, focusing on scripting and system-level programming.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to establish APIs, service contracts, and deployment methodologies.

• Enhance system performance and guarantee high availability in distributed systems.

• Contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines, as well as automated testing frameworks.

• Engage in code reviews and discussions regarding architecture.

• Ensure adherence to security, quality, and performance standards.

• Develop high-performance, scalable services for distributed systems on embedded devices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in C++ (C++14/17/20).

• Proficiency in developing and debugging in Linux environments, including shell scripting, system calls, and process/thread management.

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and service orchestration.

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker.

• Knowledge of inter-process communication (IPC), message queues, and gRPC.

• Expertise in version control using Git and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI.

• Experience with additional programming languages such as Python or Go.

• Excellent analytical and debugging abilities.

• Candidates may be located anywhere within the United Kingdom.

• Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.

• UK Security Clearance or the ability to obtain it; eligibility generally requires at least 5 years of continuous UK residency and no more than 30 consecutive days outside the UK at any one time.
