Data Modeler, SQL Database Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Administer and oversee extensive Microsoft SQL Server relational databases.

• Design, create, adjust, and manage SQL tables, schemas, and overall database architectures.

• Develop, execute, maintain, and enhance stored procedures, queries, scripts, and utilities.

• Create and modify SQL reports to meet both recurring and ad hoc reporting needs.

• Manage and oversee automated SQL Server jobs and their scheduling.

• Monitor and evaluate database performance, reliability, integrity, and availability.

• Provide support for database backup, recovery processes, permissions, access controls, and security measures.

• Troubleshoot issues related to databases, servers, applications, and data.

• Implement new database and application specifications while modifying existing solutions as requirements change.

• Collaborate with Web Developers on the implementation, integration, testing, and debugging of web-based applications.

• Address reported problems, system alerts, and urgent requests.

• Offer technical recommendations to the Program Director and HSR/ORD research leaders and managers.

• Create and maintain technical documentation.

• Assist with ad hoc technical projects and special requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–5 years of experience in SQL database administration and programming.

• 3–5 years of experience in developing complex database operations, queries, and scripts.

• Proven knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database administration and associated products.

• Experience in database design and technical documentation.

• Background in supporting database backup, recovery, security, and data integrity.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft Access is preferred.

• Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, ColdFusion/CFML, Java, XML, and OLAP is preferred.

• Experience in supporting web applications that utilize Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.

• Previous experience in supporting VA, VHA, federal health, or healthcare research settings is preferred.
