Senior Software Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Assume responsibility for a key Helius system: Gatekeeper, Data Streaming, Historical APIs, or Account Index

• Design, develop, and launch high-performance products for the Solana developer ecosystem

• Enhance production systems through profiling and benchmarking to boost latency and throughput

• Collaborate with staff engineers and founders on architectural and product-related decisions

• Elevate observability, incident response, and operational excellence

• Guide junior engineers and elevate the technical standards within the team

• Establish technical direction and make architectural choices that shape the platform

• Manage the assigned domain from start to finish

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of backend engineering experience with a proven record of delivering production systems at scale

• Strong intuition for systems-level design

• Proficient in Rust, C++, or Go

• Experience in debugging and optimizing latency-sensitive or high-throughput systems

• Ability to independently handle problems from start to finish with minimal guidance

• Previous exposure to engineering cultures that prioritize operational excellence, reliability, and customer impact

• Extensive Rust experience in a production, performance-critical setting (preferred)

• Familiarity with distributed systems, storage engines, or streaming infrastructure (preferred)

• Knowledge of flamegraphs, perf, or valgrind (preferred)

• Interest in Solana, blockchain infrastructure, or real-time financial systems (preferred)

• Experience with on-call duties and operational ownership of production services (preferred)

• A mix of experiences in both large and small companies (strongly preferred)
