Senior Software Engineer, Back End

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and architect microservices and Temporal workflows for financial transactions, trading, and account management.

• Collaborate with long-running state machines that require determinism, replay safety, idempotency, and the ability to perform retryable operations.

• Make architectural choices across various systems while enhancing testing methodologies.

• Manage gRPC services comprehensively within a multi-tenant environment.

• Oversee partner-facing REST APIs.

• Tackle intricate engineering and product challenges and maintain the systems you develop.

• Implement instrumentation for services in Datadog and take ownership of traces, dashboards, and monitoring tools.

• Create and troubleshoot integrations with custodians, clearing houses, and banking partners.

• Compute and produce tax documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8-10+ years of experience in software development, focusing on building and operating production backend systems.

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• Proficiency in Go, or extensive experience with another statically typed language combined with a strong desire to learn Go.

• Knowledge of distributed systems and handling partial failures, including idempotency, exactly-once semantics, and reconciliation processes.

• Proven track record in delivering high-quality production services and systems.

• Experience in debugging using traces and logs.

• Capability to create postmortem documentation and runbooks.

• Previous experience in the financial sector and comfort operating within a regulated environment (preferred).

• Direct experience with Temporal or other similar workflow engines (preferred).

• Familiarity with Datadog or equivalent observability tools (preferred).

• Knowledge of gRPC and protobuf at scale (preferred).

• Exposure to brokerage concepts such as clearing, settlement, corporate actions, KYC/AML, and record-keeping (preferred).
