AEM Technical Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the architectural framework and technical strategy for advanced AEM-focused websites, content management systems, and digital experience solutions.

• Convert business and technical requirements into scalable architectural designs that encompass system boundaries, interfaces, data flows, deployment, performance, security, and maintainability.

• Assess the capabilities of AEM and related platforms, including infrastructure, limitations, technical debt, and options for building versus buying.

• Analyze client technical environments and propose recommendations for architectural and performance enhancements.

• Oversee the entire solution delivery lifecycle from technical discovery and design through to development, testing, deployment, and solution readiness.

• Ensure implementation quality through design reviews, architecture checkpoints, risk management, and documentation of architectural decisions.

• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams on implementation strategies, integrations, troubleshooting, and web performance optimization.

• Evaluate complex technical challenges, develop potential solutions, and present recommendations to stakeholders.

• Collaborate with client leaders and internal teams including Solutions, Product, Data, Quality, Delivery, and Engineering.

• Assist in presales activities including discovery, technical scoping, feasibility assessments, solution estimation, and identification of risks and dependencies.

• Articulate architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences while fostering trusted relationships with clients.

• Mentor Lead Engineers and Engineers, facilitating knowledge sharing.

• Create reusable architectural patterns, accelerators, standards, and document lessons learned.

• Stay updated on AEM functionalities and emerging engineering practices.

• Direct technical delivery, manage architectural risks, mentor engineers, and ensure high-quality results.

• Maintain an 85% utilization target.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in software engineering, solution architecture, web content management, or comparable technical roles.

• Proven experience taking ownership of architecture and key technical decisions for intricate client projects, products, or digital solution areas.

• Ability to translate both functional and non-functional requirements into solution designs, implementation plans, estimates, and architectural choices.

• Strong skills in client consulting, stakeholder facilitation, written and oral communication, and technical presentation.

• Demonstrated proficiency in designing and leading Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions and their integration with enterprise systems.

• Expertise in object-oriented design and Java-based application architecture.

• Knowledge of web application performance, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.

• Familiarity with RESTful services, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, SQL, HTTP, web servers, and content delivery networks.

• Capacity to assess architectural trade-offs, reliability, security, scalability, technical debt, and production-readiness considerations.

• Experience conducting design reviews, managing technical risks and dependencies, and guiding engineering teams through intricate implementation challenges.

• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum, and experience in supporting technical scoping and estimation.

• Ability to mentor engineers and work collaboratively across product, data, quality, delivery, and client teams.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% as required by client engagements.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (preferred skills and experience).
