Senior Backend Engineer, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assume complete end-to-end responsibility for features, encompassing implementation, automated testing, release, and live operation.

• Create scalable Ruby on Rails services, robust APIs, data models, and background jobs.

• Develop and enhance LLM applications, evaluation pipelines, and agent workflows with consistent quality assurance.

• Execute authorization and billing workflows effectively.

• Work closely with the Product Manager and subject matter experts to translate intricate requirements into maintainable, high-performance software.

• Contribute through technical reviews, operational monitoring, and decisive technical decision-making.

• Influence shared delivery practices and set modern testing and engineering standards throughout the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive senior experience in developing and sustaining complex systems utilizing Ruby on Rails.

• Demonstrated proficiency in crafting clean APIs, data models, and overseeing background job processing.

• Solid understanding of authorization principles, billing workflows, and automated testing methodologies.

• Hands-on experience in constructing LLM applications, evaluations, and agent workflows.

• Capability and attitude to independently manage functionality from initial design through to live production.

• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with product and domain experts, making technical trade-offs clear.

• Must be eligible to work in Germany and reside there from day one.
