Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Create REST API integrations between customer and partner systems and the Databricks platform.

• Develop the ingestion and transformation of HL7 messages and CDA / C-CDA documents into Databricks, orchestrated via Azure Data Factory.

• Build integration services in Python and C# / .NET for Databricks and Azure SQL Managed Instance.

• Follow the technical design provided by the Lead Software Engineer and actively participate in design discussions for assigned integrations.

• Produce work that meets the customer's technical standards, adhering to their code review, testing, and deployment protocols.

• Quickly onboard and start contributing to integration tasks early in the engagement.

• Timely communicate progress, risks, and obstacles to the Lead Software Engineer and relevant delivery stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with the Lead Software Engineer, delivery team, and customer stakeholders from the initial definition through to final delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in delivering software solutions within the healthcare sector; experience in pharmacy benefit management (PBM) is highly preferred.

• Practical experience in designing and developing REST APIs and system-to-system integrations.

• Hands-on experience with Databricks, particularly in building pipelines and integrating external services with the platform.

• Understanding of healthcare data standards, specifically HL7 and CDA / C-CDA documents.

• Experience in orchestrating data movement using Azure Data Factory.

• Familiarity with Azure SQL Managed Instance (or SQL Server), including schema design and query optimization.

• Experience with production-level development in Python.

• Experience with production-level development in C# / .NET.

• Background in HL7 FHIR.

• Knowledge of PBM data domains such as claims, eligibility, formulary, and prior authorization.

• Experience handling PHI in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Prior experience as an embedded contractor on a customer engineering team.
