Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Act as an integral member of an agile team.

• Implement software updates and technical modifications for EverWell products.

• Address technical and delivery obstacles effectively.

• Assist technical leadership in planning and defining the scope of strategic technical initiatives.

• Contribute to software design and product development efforts.

• Validate solutions to deliver customer value promptly.

• Advocate for and enhance software standards.

• Identify and resolve maintenance concerns and technical debt within the backlog or related tasks.

• Implement changes prioritized by the product owner based on product, engineering, and design requirements.

• Engage in incident response and participate in on-call teams.

• Promote the adoption of new technologies and AI-assisted development methodologies.

• Mentor and coach junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in software engineering or a similar position.

• Proven experience in building SaaS applications.

• Strong proficiency and experience with .NET and API Design.

• Prior experience with migrating to .NET Core is preferable.

• Capability to advocate for the adoption of new technologies.

• Skills in designing incremental, AI-assisted development strategies and workflows that yield measurable improvements.

• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

• Experience with feature flagging and partial deployments.

• Knowledge of IaaS platforms such as Azure or AWS.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across product and engineering teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

• Experience in collaborative programming or advocacy.

• Demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring junior engineers.

• Empathetic with the ability to provide constructive and comprehensible feedback.

• A sense of curiosity and strong problem-solving skills.
