Senior Software Engineer, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop features for an AI platform, including agent tool systems, prompt pipelines, integration APIs, and services deployed at the edge.

• Create TypeScript services utilizing Hono, Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, D1/Drizzle, and the Anthropic AI SDK.

• Develop scope-aware tool systems that provide AI agents with access to orders, inventory, and knowledge-base functionalities.

• Architect fault-tolerant integrations with downstream Elixir/Phoenix services.

• Take ownership of features from technical design through to implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.

• Develop agentic AI functionalities, such as tool invocation, context management, multi-step workflows, and confidence-based routing.

• Execute prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and observability practices.

• Collaborate with Data Scientists to integrate machine-learning model outputs through API layers.

• Contribute to agent orchestration, skill registries, and human-in-the-loop methodologies.

• Enhance architecture through design documentation, code reviews, and technical discussions.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

• Identify technical risks, suggest improvements, and advocate for high standards of quality.

• Work alongside Product Management and Design teams during feature development.

• Assist product engineering teams in adopting AI capabilities.

• Engage in sprint planning, design reviews, and cross-team synchronization.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience with TypeScript in a production environment.

• Proven experience in building and delivering LLM-powered or agentic features in production.

• Familiarity with prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and context management.

• Experience in creating stateful or high-availability services.

• Knowledge of designing and consuming RESTful APIs, OpenAPI specifications, and event-driven architectures.

• Strong foundation in SQL.

• Practical experience with Cloudflare, GCP, or AWS.

• Experience in instrumenting production systems using OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or similar tools.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, ownership, accountability, production mindset, learning agility, and independent technical judgment.

• Familiarity with Elixir/Phoenix, Cloudflare developer platform, Anthropic Claude, AI SDK, MCP, logistics/e-commerce/supply chain, WebSocket, scope-based authorization, multi-tenant systems, or contributions to open-source projects is a plus.
