Senior Software Engineer, Aggregation & Search

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Denmark.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance the data ingestion Java service responsible for enriched transfer generation and aggregations.

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL transaction batching, indexing, and replication methodologies.

• Assess next-generation architectural technologies through proof of concept evaluations and latency benchmarks.

• Document Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and assist in delivering the next generation to production.

• Develop and sustain scalable AWS API services capable of managing thousands of requests per second.

• Automate the end-to-end network onboarding process.

• Troubleshoot production issues across various microservices.

• Establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and take part in the on-call rotation.

• Integrate LLM-based tools into daily engineering practices.

• Create agentic automation for operational tasks, including automated incident triage, self-healing pipelines, and intelligent alerting.

• Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver and iterate on solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience with PostgreSQL in production settings, encompassing schema design, query optimization, partitioning, replication, and performance tuning for write-heavy, high-throughput workloads.

• More than 8 years of experience building Java Spring Boot services, including REST APIs, JDBC, connection pooling, and JVM performance profiling.

• Familiarity with Kafka or similar streaming systems, covering consumer groups, offset management, and debugging partition lag.

• Proven experience operating distributed systems on AWS, including microservices, multi-silo deployments, and using Terraform.

• Strong skills in cross-system debugging utilizing Datadog metrics, Humio logs, and code paths.

• Comfort with AI-assisted development and agentic engineering methodologies.

• Required experience with PostgreSQL, Java Spring, and Kafka.

• Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, GitHub (including GitHub Actions), Datadog, Humio, and PagerDuty.
