Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Develop a risk-oriented automation strategy for onboarding, identity verification, wallets, deposits, withdrawals, investment checkout, portfolios, and administrative tasks.

• Enhance and support the current Java test framework, API clients, fixtures, and reporting; ensure test suites are reliable, comprehensible, and safe to execute in parallel.

• Create API, contract, integration, and end-to-end tests that validate business functionality and recorded outcomes, including financial values and authorization regulations.

• Test payment and banking callbacks, including scenarios for duplicate and out-of-order events, timeouts, partial failures, and concurrent requests; ensure retries do not result in duplicate financial impacts.

• Automate critical web and Flutter mobile user journeys, covering relevant iOS and Android functionalities as well as Arabic and English interface behaviors.

• Generate deterministic test data and cleanup processes; utilize service mocks or sandboxes to simulate provider failures without relying on actual customer transactions.

• Integrate testing suites into CI/CD pipelines with meaningful release checkpoints; minimize flaky tests and execution duration while maintaining coverage of key risks.

• Analyze failures using logs, API responses, and database evidence; collaborate with developers to resolve issues, conduct targeted exploratory testing, and clearly communicate release risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering, with significant expertise in writing and maintaining automation code.

• Proficient in Java and experienced with TestNG or JUnit, Maven, REST Assured or similar API automation tools, and reusable test framework development.

• Experience in testing REST APIs, authentication, authorization, asynchronous workflows, and third-party integrations.

• Practical experience in web automation using Playwright or Selenium, along with mobile automation expertise using Appium or a comparable tool.

• Strong SQL skills with the ability to validate application behavior through persistent data, logs, and service responses.

• Experience in executing automation within CI/CD environments, managing test setups and data, and troubleshooting flaky or parallel execution failures.

• Capable of translating business rules into significant tests, prioritizing based on risk, and collaborating with developers throughout the feature delivery process.

• Familiarity with testing wallets, payment gateways, reconciliation, investment systems, or other processes that require financial precision.

• Experience testing Flutter applications, Arabic interfaces, and right-to-left layouts, or utilizing real-device cloud platforms.

• Knowledge of WireMock, Testcontainers, performance testing, security-focused testing, or ReportPortal.
