Senior QA Engineer – Automation Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Strategically plan and implement manual testing across customer-facing journeys and associated services, including exploratory, regression, and risk-based testing.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish test methodologies, acceptance criteria, and quality risk assessments early in the delivery process.

• Validate integrations and end-to-end processes across web platforms, APIs, and backend systems, covering checkout, payments, fulfillment, and customer data.

• Utilize existing automated checks and quality signals to inform release decisions.

• Work alongside engineers to pinpoint potential areas for effective automation coverage.

• Identify, record, and monitor defects with comprehensive reproduction steps.

• Partner with developers for defect analysis and resolution.

• Examine issues through logs, monitoring, and data sources to confirm behavior and determine root causes.

• Relay testing progress, risks, and outcomes to internal teams and clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of relevant experience.

• Strong background in Quality Assurance (QA) or test engineering.

• Proven experience testing eCommerce or transactional platforms.

• Expertise in manual testing techniques.

• Basic understanding of test automation principles; hands-on coding is not necessary.

• Familiarity with risk-based testing methodologies.

• Experience in cross-browser and device testing, as well as responsive web validation.

• Keen attention to detail for premium brand presentation, including aspects such as content, UI refinement, localization, and fundamental accessibility standards.

• Knowledge of API testing tools like Postman.

• Proficient in querying databases, analyzing logs, and validating data flows.

• Experience with CMS/PIM/commerce administration tools or similar back-office systems.

• Familiar with agile scrum methodologies, including sprints, stand-ups, refinements, and retrospectives.

• Understanding of delivery pipelines and quality control checkpoints.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to engage directly with clients and stakeholders.

• Ability to generate clear test evidence and high-quality defect documentation.
