Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop test strategies and create comprehensive test plans for cutting-edge routing platforms.

• Design, implement, and run functional tests for routing services, focusing on BGP, FRRouting, and GoBGP.

• Validate technologies related to EVPN, BGP Route Reflection, and IP routing and switching.

• Build and sustain scalable automated testing frameworks utilizing Python and Pytest.

• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for ongoing validation.

• Perform performance, stress, and scalability testing using Spirent TestCenter or similar traffic-generation tools.

• Troubleshoot intricate networking issues, analyze routing convergence, and identify root causes of system-wide failures.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

• Enhance the resilience, scalability, performance, reliability, and functionality of routing infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in Network Validation, QA Automation, or Systems Testing.

• Practical knowledge in computer science, engineering, or related disciplines.

• Proficiency in L2/L3 networking concepts, including TCP/IP and IPv4/IPv6.

• Experience in configuring, debugging, and testing routing stacks such as FRR.

• In-depth knowledge of BGP protocols, attributes, state machines, and scaling methods.

• Advanced skills in Python for automation, utilizing Pytest and related libraries.

• Familiarity with high-scale traffic generation tools like Spirent, Keysight/Ixia, Cisco TRex, or Xena Networks.

• Experience with Docker for containerizing routing daemons, managing multi-container network configurations, and establishing virtualized network test environments.
