Senior Software Development Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain applications developed with COBOL, CICS, JCL, and FOCUS/Micro-FOCUS for IBM mainframe operating systems.

• Deliver application support services for the maintenance and advancement of the Defense Joint Military Payroll System (DJMS) project.

• Organize, lead, and manage software development activities across various functional areas and products.

• Determine priorities and allocate projects, products, and resources in collaboration with architects and managers.

• Engage in strategic technology decisions as well as the definition and implementation of software products.

• Make hiring decisions and manage employee recognition and rewards.

• Coordinate efforts among multi-team or cross-functional organizations.

• Oversee software development projects to ensure they are completed on time and meet quality standards.

• Promote effective communication regarding project status, variance justifications, and technical details across upward and cross-project teams.

• Structure projects by formulating plans, goals, strategies, roles, schedules, milestones, risks, contingencies, and resource allocations.

• Track technology trends and emerging standards to identify new technology opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 years of experience with a BS/BA; 0 years with an MS/MA; 6 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Must possess U.S. citizenship.

• Capable of obtaining Public Trust clearance.

• Experience in documenting specifications for changes in software requirements.

• Background in the design and development of software systems.

• Strong proficiency in COBOL and JCL within a mainframe environment is essential.

• Experience in developing and maintaining applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, and FOCUS/Micro-FOCUS for IBM mainframe operating systems.
