Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Support the establishment of software development project plans, encompassing scoping, scheduling, and implementation.

• Create, write, translate, and code software applications in accordance with specifications.

• Develop new programming scripts and modify existing ones to improve functionality and/or performance.

• Design, execute, and oversee software performance testing on both new and existing applications.

• Identify and rectify errors, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and conduct general debugging.

• Assess test outcomes and provide solutions for identified issues.

• Compile statistics and generate reports for management and/or team members regarding programming progress.

• Investigate emerging software products, programming languages, and standards in application development.

• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to less experienced development personnel.

• Educate end users on the operation of new or modified software programs.

• Research, design, document, and revise software specifications throughout the production lifecycle.

• Engage in compliance program objectives and carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college diploma or a university degree in computer science, information systems, or software engineering.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional programming experience.

• Strong understanding of coding techniques and best practices.

• Practical knowledge or experience with source control systems such as TFS and GitHub.

• Experience in interviewing end-users regarding functionality, interface, issues, and usability concerns.

• Hands-on experience in developing test cases and test plans.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Agile project management tools like Jira and Azure DevOps.

• Working knowledge or experience with cloud-first, API-first, and microservice strategies.

• Understanding or experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Experience in building cloud-native applications utilizing AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Capability to engage in, adhere to, and support compliance program goals.

• Ability to interact cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues.
