Senior Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage complete features on a microservice platform that supports a micro-frontend application.

• Create APIs, utilize asynchronous messaging, and design caching and data management solutions.

• Leverage AI to produce meaningful, resilient, and validated tests with extensive coverage.

• Engage in and occasionally take the lead on architecture and design discussions.

• Implement significant components of features.

• Conduct critical reviews of colleagues’ code and API designs.

• Create and sustain agents that produce shared SDKs, services, UI components, and application logic.

• Share insights regarding AI tools with the team.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, UX teams, Agile teams, and inter-team working groups.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability practices.

• Assist in production incident responses, including root cause analysis, rollbacks, hotfixes, and deployments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software development.

• Proficiency in microservice architecture and REST API design, encompassing versioning, contracts, error handling, and consumer-driven design.

• Experience with asynchronous messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.

• Familiarity with caching strategies and management of relational/NoSQL databases.

• Strong understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, and concepts related to distributed systems.

• Practical experience with agentic coding and the skill to refine agent-generated outputs into production-quality code.

• Solid conceptual grasp of frontend engineering.

• Basic knowledge of TypeScript, SPAs, HTML, CSS, and asynchronous JavaScript.

• Experience in Agile environments with CI/CD processes.

• Proficiency in French is required for permanent positions in Quebec.

• Proficiency in English is necessary for communication with colleagues, customers, partners, or suppliers primarily outside Quebec, as well as for understanding technical and scientific documentation.

• Nice to have: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, developer tooling or internal SDKs, accessibility standards and compliance, Sass, and Web Components.
