Senior Software Developer, Applied AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and develop workflows for agents, orchestration templates, and reusable components for the Agentic SDLC framework.

• Strengthen and enhance the Agentic SDLC framework while ensuring a swift delivery pace.

• Design, create, and manage MCP servers and their integration with core systems.

• Guarantee that connectors are versioned, tested, monitored, and operate on a least-privilege basis by default.

• Construct and uphold evaluation harnesses, regression suites, CI quality gates, and scoring infrastructure.

• Monitor token spending, latency, evaluation pass rates, and usage across production agent workflows.

• Develop dashboards and alerts to track AI costs, quality metrics, and workflow unit economics.

• Establish permissioning, audit trails, versioning, and output controls for projects in a government context.

• Create libraries for skills and templates, onboarding processes, self-service AI tools, and feedback mechanisms.

• Collaborate with the Technical Product Manager, taking ownership of implementation and a significant portion of the technical scope.

• Assume operational responsibility for connectors and evaluation harnesses, enhancing framework reliability and performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience as a software engineer delivering production systems.

• At least 1-2 years of experience in building LLM-powered or agentic systems relied upon by real users.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure principles.

• Practical experience with agent frameworks and coding agents like Claude Code and LangGraph, or similar alternatives.

• Familiarity with MCP or equivalent tool protocols.

• Background in structured outputs and evaluation-driven development.

• Insight into context management, supported by data-driven decision-making.

• Capability to work autonomously within a small team.

• A comprehensive background check is required prior to employment.

• Experience in regulated or public-sector software, DevOps/platform engineering, internal developer platforms, and LLM cost and quality optimization is a plus.
