Senior Software Developer, AI Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and deploy shared infrastructure for AI-supported development throughout Wealthsimple.

• Transform custom and one-off LLM tools into a governed, reusable platform.

• Develop AI-enhanced developer productivity tools, such as AI-assisted code reviews, automated PR approvals, and smart deployment checks.

• Establish policy controls, verification layers, and governance tools to ensure safe, compliant, and company-standard aligned AI interactions.

• Promote platform adoption among teams utilizing Ruby on Rails, Python, TypeScript, and Java/Kotlin.

• Monitor adoption, satisfaction, and impact using data to inform product development.

• Set standards and practices for LLM integrations, cost governance, and AI-assisted engineering tools.

• Collaborate with teams across the organization, contribute documentation and code reviews, and provide mentorship to developers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software development as part of a team.

• Significant experience in platform engineering, developer experience, or developer tooling.

• A growing track record in building AI-powered or LLM-driven systems.

• Practical experience in developing with LLMs and AI tools, including LLM-powered developer tools, AI APIs, agents, or automation.

• Familiarity with the real-world challenges of utilizing models like Claude in production environments.

• A product-oriented mindset for internal platforms and experience in measuring adoption and impact.

• Proficiency in two or more of Ruby, Python, TypeScript, or Java/Kotlin.

• Experience in constructing governance, policy, or guardrail systems.

• Data-driven decision-making skills, including establishing baselines, setting goals, and monitoring progress.

• Strong skills in cross-functional collaboration.

• A collaborative spirit and a passion for mentorship.

• Ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
