Senior Software Backend Engineer – Foundations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary authority for a key area within Foundations, including identity, authentication, or access control.

• Collaborate with other teams to design and develop backend services for the platform.

• Take ownership of delivering complex components within Foundations projects, overseeing the process from design to production.

• Decompose large projects into clearly defined milestones and proactively communicate risks and project status.

• Analyze and resolve challenging technical issues.

• Recognize and address technical debt and risks before they escalate into significant business challenges.

• Guide engineers through pairing, code reviews, and design reviews.

• Clearly articulate technical decisions in design documents and team meetings.

• Collaborate with Product and other engineering teams to ensure technical work aligns with organizational priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of software development experience, including managing complex backend systems.

• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python or Go.

• Experience in Platform Engineering or in developing shared platform components.

• Proven ability to break down large projects into milestones and deliver them punctually.

• Experience in mentoring engineers through code and design reviews.

• Strong foundational knowledge of Linux and distributed systems.

• Ability to work collaboratively across teams to align technical initiatives with product priorities.

• Familiarity with integrating AI into development workflows and creating AI-enhanced tools.

• Experience with authentication and authorization systems (such as OAuth, SSO, or role-based access control) is preferred.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration is a plus.

• Background in network management or infrastructure software (like NetBox) is advantageous.

• Contributions to open-source projects or involvement in related activities are a plus.
