Senior Backend Engineer – Java / Go

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and continuously enhance the core backend systems for Social products.

• Enhance system performance, stability, availability, and overall technical quality.

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of product and operational objectives while collaborating with product, operations, algorithm, and client engineering teams to deliver groundbreaking projects.

• Convert intricate business requirements into clear, reusable, and scalable system functionalities.

• Enhance service governance, data pipelines, monitoring and alerting, incident response, and engineering productivity.

• Identify technical bottlenecks as the business evolves and drive medium- to long-term technical planning.

• Investigate a Human + AI collaborative development model, utilizing AI to enhance requirements analysis, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and delivery efficiency.

• Engage in technical design reviews, code reviews, and engineering capability development to continually improve software quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Java or Go, with a strong foundation in computer science and software engineering skills.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, message queues, caching, databases, and service governance.

• Experience in designing and constructing large-scale, highly concurrent, and highly available online systems.

• Strong technical judgment and business insight, with the capability to balance business value, user experience, and technical costs.

• Results-oriented with robust problem-solving and cross-functional project execution abilities.

• Proficient in AI-powered coding and development tools, with the capability to effectively integrate AI into engineering workflows while ensuring code quality, security, and maintainability.

• Preferred: Experience with social platforms, content communities, instant messaging, recommendation systems, or user growth.

• Preferred: Experience in building feeds, comments and interactions, social graphs, messaging, or real-time communication systems.

• Preferred: Experience with global, large-scale internet products or cross-region systems.

• Preferred: Experience in complex system architecture, technical planning, or cross-functional collaboration.
