Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer, Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden, +5 more countries.

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes from intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Leverage available tools and tailored workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task execution.

• Consistently extract data from dynamic and interactive web sources, adjusting to JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting standards, and systematic verification.

• Enhance scraping operations for substantial datasets by utilizing effective batching or parallel processing techniques.

• Supervise failures and ensure stability against minor modifications in site structure.

• Utilize tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and additional technologies alongside technical expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar tools, dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs through proxies.

• Proven track record in extracting data from complex structures, encompassing hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets in CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets formats.

• Demonstrated capability to manage anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures on a large scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent, along with containerization using Docker in practical workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar technologies applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic and the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English at Upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.

• A GitHub link would be a plus.
