Senior ServiceNow Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, configure, and implement applications, modules, and enhancements within ServiceNow.

• Function both independently and as a collaborative senior member of a technical delivery team.

• Provide support for multiple ServiceNow instances and domains serving both internal and external clients.

• Engage in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and actively contribute to iterative development efforts.

• Offer technical guidance regarding ServiceNow design, architecture, development standards, and best practices for the platform.

• Work alongside business, systems, and technology stakeholders to gather, analyze, and convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Develop and maintain custom functionalities, workflows, and integrations for ServiceNow.

• Create and manage Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, ACLs, Workflow Activities, UI Policies, Catalog Items, and Catalog Workflows.

• Assist with deployment and rollout activities for new applications and enhancements.

• Diagnose platform issues and pinpoint opportunities for enhancing system performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Ensure that solutions comply with security, governance, and federal compliance requirements.

• Contribute to documentation, knowledge transfer, and initiatives aimed at continuous process improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret Security Clearance is required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on development experience with ServiceNow.

• Proven experience in supporting federal government clients and programs.

• Extensive experience in developing custom ServiceNow solutions utilizing JavaScript and platform scripting capabilities.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in translating business requirements into technical designs and implemented solutions.

• In-depth knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and its core modules, which include Service Catalog, Service Portal, Incident Management, Knowledge Management, as well as Reporting and Dashboards.

• Experience with ITSM, ITAM, and CMDB processes.

• Knowledge of ITIL best practices and service management frameworks.

• Familiarity with PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management methodologies.

• Experience in supporting enterprise-scale ServiceNow environments.

• Expertise in performing data analysis, data modeling, and handling large datasets.

• Understanding of SDLC principles and enterprise application support.

• Experience with platform performance monitoring, optimization, and governance.

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) is preferred.

• Additional ServiceNow certifications are highly desirable.

• ITIL Foundation Certification is preferred.
