Senior Server Tech Services Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Report directly to and collaborate closely with the cSTS team lead during essential maintenance projects.

• Work in partnership with Network Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering teams to evaluate issues and initiate prompt workflows.

• Diagnose advanced hardware and network problems across the global infrastructure.

• Facilitate server repairs in coordination with ISPs and Field Engineers.

• Organize the return of Akamai equipment to warehouses or vendors.

• Monitor patterns of hardware failures and proactively inform Hardware Engineering and vendors of trends.

• Lead intricate technical escalations.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

• Propel operational excellence within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• A Bachelor's degree in technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proven experience in diagnosing faults in network and server hardware technologies, including drives, RAM, motherboards, and RAID systems.

• In-depth knowledge of Layer 1 and Layer 2 troubleshooting techniques.

• Comprehensive understanding of the OSI Model.

• Proficient knowledge of Unix/Linux command line interfaces.

• Experience with data center technologies and managing infrastructure environments.

• Strong analytical skills for systematically gathering information and resolving intricate technical challenges.

• Capability to maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, third-party service providers, and external vendors.
