Senior SDET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain comprehensive end-to-end and integration automation for consumer-facing web and app experiences utilizing TypeScript with Playwright.

• Test complete buyer and seller journeys, which include project creation, professional contact, lead claiming, reviews, and app install/deep-link flows.

• Evaluate frontend/backend interactions, API contracts, event-driven processes, eventual consistency, and failure scenarios.

• Collaborate with engineers from design through to production to address gaps in testability.

• Develop and sustain Datadog synthetic monitoring for crucial production user journeys.

• Use SQL to verify the state of backend systems.

• Validate analytics, tracking, and experiment instrumentation.

• Integrate tests into CI/CD processes and enhance observability and alerting mechanisms.

• Design and uphold performance tests while providing recommendations for capacity and scaling.

• Promote the adoption of AI tooling within the squad and Quality Engineering chapter.

• Contribute to AI-assisted test planning, execution, and failure analysis.

• Conduct technical-sharing sessions for the QE Guild and mentor colleagues across various squads.

• Assist in elevating quality engineering standards throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be located in Spain.

• 5+ years of experience in SDET / Quality Engineering.

• Strong background in testing consumer-facing web products from end to end.

• Expertise in test automation using TypeScript with Playwright and/or Cypress.

• Ability to create maintainable, fast, and reliable automation frameworks.

• Proficient in API testing at both integration and contract levels.

• Experience in testing event-driven and asynchronous processes.

• Capability to read and understand both frontend and backend code.

• Strong SQL skills for data validation, test data preparation, and investigation.

• Practical experience in applying AI to Quality Engineering tasks.

• Understanding of LLM behavior and agentic tooling in testing.

• Hands-on experience with synthetic monitoring, preferably using Datadog.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Experience in testing mobile applications and deep-link/app-install journeys.

• Familiarity with MCP servers and agentic test workflows.

• Experience validating A/B tests and analytics instrumentation.

• Knowledge of accessibility and cross-browser/cross-device testing.

• Background in two-sided marketplaces or high-traffic consumer products.

• Familiarity with contract testing or service virtualization.

• Exposure to additional programming languages, such as PHP or Python.
