Senior Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Oversee the operations of the “Interface Characterization” Core Facility

• Perform analyses on materials

• Establish a self-sufficient research profile in the domain of “Complex Fluids”

• Participate in research initiatives and scientific investigations focused on polymers in solution

• Publish findings in international journals and provide scientific presentations

• Pursue project applications and obtain third-party funding

• Independently teach courses in alignment with the relevant collective agreement

• Mentor students working on bachelor’s theses, master’s internships, and master’s theses

• Handle administrative responsibilities related to research and education

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline

• Significant expertise in polymer chemistry and materials characterization

• Proficient in characterizing surfaces and interfaces using techniques such as iGC, XPS, tensiometry, goniometry, BET, DSC/TGA–IR, zeta potential, DVS, particle-size analysis, foam analysis, GPC, rheology, and light scattering

• Experience with plastics-processing equipment and composite material manufacturing techniques is a plus

• Exceptional publication history in peer-reviewed journals

• Proficient in both written and spoken German and English

• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and communication abilities

• Teaching experience, familiarity with e-learning, and experience in supervising students
