Bioinformatics Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Perform data analysis and visualization tasks with minimal oversight, including updates to figures and analyses, execution of pipelines, quality control of data, and delivery of results.

• Optimize and manage automated data processing pipelines.

• Conduct routine quality checks on outputs, document run parameters and versions, and create analytical outputs.

• Develop and refresh interactive data viewers utilizing RMarkdown, Quarto, or Shiny.

• Package and publish outputs in formats agreed upon by the team.

• Assist in integrating cross-study databases through data collation, standardization, variable mapping, identifier harmonization, and validation.

• Aid in experiment preparation, which includes generating balanced sample layouts and coordinating subsequent submission steps.

• Maintain a reusable library of prompts, code snippets, and workflows for frequently used bioinformatics tasks.

• Set coding standards and offer guidance on AI-assisted analysis workflows.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to study operations from planning stages to data delivery.


⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced expertise in R programming and R Shiny for data analysis and interactive visualization.

• Strong background in biomarker data analytics, high-dimensional proteomic datasets, and data quality management.

• Proficiency in version control tools like GitHub.

• Experience in regulated environments with stringent compliance practices.

• Proficient in Python and Bash scripting for data processing and automation.

• Familiarity with AI tools and capacity to swiftly learn emerging technologies.

• Background in analyzing biological, clinical, or preclinical data within the life sciences sector.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities suited for cross-functional settings.

• Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.

• Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field.

• Over 4 years of programming experience, ideally in life sciences or clinical research settings.

• Proven expertise in R programming, R Shiny, and Bash scripting.

• Practical experience in biomarker data analytics and proteomic data analysis.

• Proficient with Git/GitHub and experienced in adhering to SOPs in regulated environments.

• Strong skills in communication, organization, and problem-solving.

• Preferred: Master's degree in a related discipline.

• Preferred: Experience with the Olink proteomic platform or other high-dimensional biomarker technologies.

• Preferred: Knowledge of specific disease research areas.

• Preferred: Familiarity with the fundamentals of statistical modeling.

• Preferred: Experience with Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools.
